BRESIL - PRINCE JEAN REGENT

(1799-1816)

Juan VI de Portugal (1767-1826) se refugió en Brasil cuando se sintió en peligro en Portugal y no volvió allí hasta 1816. Juan fue regente de su madre María I (1734-1816), esposa de Pedro III, entre 1803 y 1816. Muchas monedas de 8 colonias españolas o americanas fueron acuñadas para ser transformadas en monedas de 960 Reis.
