Très bel exemplaire, malgré un droit un peu mou, mais un très beau revers, avec une patine gris anthracite Patine gris vert

Descripción del reverso: Taureau à droite, sur une ligne d’exergue, la queue relevée se terminant en forme de torque ou d’oméga.
Comentario
Ce potin semble être un chaînon entre le potin naturaliste au taureau et le très dégénéré potin au mannequin. Le revers se rapproche du potin 8.1 qui a un torque ou un oméga au bout de la queue du taureau. Mais le taureau est à droite alors qu'il est systématiquement à gauche sur les potins dits "au mannequin". Les deux seuls potins qui correspondent au notre semblent être celui du British Museum, n° 314 (publié par Morel en 1901), mais dont le droit est quasiment lisse, et celui du musée d'Oxford. Il est surprenant que ce type pourtant publié par Allen ait été négligé par A. Gaümann, H. Patat et les auteurs du Nouvel Atlas.

Los heduos (Aedui), que podría traducirse como los "Ardientes", fueron sin duda, después de los arvernos, el pueblo más importante de la Galia.. Su territorio se extendía entre Seine, Loire y Saône en los actuales departamentos de Saône-et-Loire, Nièvre, parte de Côte-d'Or y Allier. Ocupaban una posición estratégica en la línea divisoria entre el Mediterráneo, el Atlántico y el Canal de la Mancha.. Los heduos, perpetuos rivales de los arvernos, los habían reemplazado tras el final del Imperio arverno y la derrota del 121 a.. -VS. Aliados leales de los romanos desde el comienzo de la Segunda Guerra Púnica, cuando Aníbal pasó por la Galia en el 218 a.. -VS. , es gracias a su alianza que Domitius Ahenobarbus podría haber justificado su intervención contra los Allobroges en 121 aC. -VS. No fueron ajenos a la intervención romana en la Galia y al estallido de la Guerra. En el 58 a.C.. -VS. , los heduos apelaron a César para que los protegiera contra la invasión sueva de Ariovistus que amenazaba su territorio y luego nuevamente para contener el avance helvético.. Si el vergobret Liscus, magistrado principal de los heduos, se mantuvo fiel a la alianza romana, parte de la oligarquía hedua se unió al campo galo con Dumnorix y Divitiacos.. Los heduos se mantuvieron fieles a la alianza romana durante la guerra, aunque César estimó en treinta y cinco mil hombres a los heduos que participaron en la coalición gala.. César no se lo reprochó y recibieron directamente la ciudadanía por ser considerados "hermanos consanguíneos de los romanos".. Su oppidum era Bibracte (Mont-Beuvray), pero lo abandonaron en el 15 a.. -VS. ir y encontrar Augustodunum (Autun). César (BG. 1, 10, 33; VII, 32, 33); Estrabón (G. IV, 3).
