Comentario

Cet exemplaire est une frappe postérieure, probablement du XVIIIe voire du XIXe siècle. Son diamètre est proche d’une médaille d’époque (64mm).
Borghesi a été nommé chevalier après la bataille de Poggio Imperiale (a coté de Poggibonsi) en 1479 par le duc de Calabria pour son aide contre les florentins, dans la guerre contre Laurent de Medicis conduite par le roi Ferdinand de Naples and le pape Sixte IV. Borghesi reçut le titre de Pater Patriae par les Siennois.
This example is a later strike, probably from the 18th or even the 19th century. Its diameter is close to that of a medal of the time (64mm). Borghesi was knighted after the Battle of Poggio Imperiale (near Poggibonsi) in 1479 by the Duke of Calabria for his help against the Florentines, in the war against Lorenzo de Medici led by King Ferdinand of Naples and Pope Sixtus IV. Borghesi received the title of Pater Patriae from the Sienese
