Notre exemplaire est catalogué dans le Supplément II, Bastien n° 613(alpha)b, pl. XIII, collection D. C. Nous avons seulement deux exemplaires publiés de même coin de revers avec deux coins de droit. Avant ce Supplément II, aucun aureliani de Magnia Urbica n’était connu pour la première officine, mais seulement pour la quatrième officine comme le font remarquer les auteurs du Supplément II, op. cit., p. 56 : “La série courante d’aureliani de la 9e émission se complète d’une entrée, Suppl. II, n° 613(alpha) a-b, au nom de Magnia Urbica et au revers VENVS GENETRIX, émis par l’officine A, alors que seule l’officine D semblait consacrée à l’impératrice. Ces deux exemplaires semblent témoigner plutôt d’une inattention du scalptor : ils sont issus du même coin de revers.”.

Our example is catalogued in Supplement II, Bastien no. 613(alpha)b, pl. XIII, DC collection. We have only two published examples with the same reverse die with two obverse dies. Before this Supplement II, no aureliani of Magnia Urbica were known for the first officina, but only for the fourth officina, as the authors of Supplement II point out, op. cit., p. 56: “The current series of aureliani of the 9th issue is completed by an entry, Suppl. II, no. 613(alpha) ab, in the name of Magnia Urbica and on the reverse VENVS GENETRIX, issued by officinale A, while only officinale D seemed to be dedicated to the empress. These two examples seem to testify rather to an inattention of the scalper: they come from the same reverse die.”
