GIBRALTAR
Del árabe "Djebel Tarik" ("la montaña de Tariq" llamada así por Tariq ibn Ziyad), Gibraltar es un territorio de ultramar del Reino Unido situado en el sur de España. Conecta el Mediterráneo con el Océano Atlántico. Los ingleses han mantenido allí una importante presencia militar en el pasado. Aunque ahora está reducido, todavía hay muchos testimonios. Gibraltar es reclamado por España aunque la mayoría de la población está en contra. La cuestión de Gibraltar es una de las principales causas de disensión en las relaciones anglo-españolas. Gibraltar es parte de la Unión Europea aunque allí no se aplican ciertas regulaciones europeas, en particular en materia aduanera.
