Ce sceat se distingue de la plupart des autres par la croix cantonnée de quatre globules que l'on retrouve tant au droit qu'au revers. Avec ce LEOFDEGN au revers, il existe plusieurs types avec des motifs centraux différents (une croix à six branches dans un anneau, un globe entouré d'un double grènetis ou encore un globule dans un grènetis clairsemé). Sur les dix exemplaires du Fitzwilliam Museum de Cambridge, aucun n'a cette croix cantonnée de globules au droit et/ou revers. Les sceats de ce monétaire sont attribués au premier rège de Æthelred II.
This sceat is distinguished from most others by the cross cantoned with four globules that is found on both the obverse and reverse. With this LEOFDEGN on the reverse, there are several types with different central motifs (a six-pointed cross in a ring, a globe surrounded by a double beading or a globule in a sparse beading). Of the ten examples in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, none has this cross cantoned with globules on the obverse and/or reverse. The sceats of this coin are attributed to the first reign of Æthelred II
