Joseph II (13/03/1741-20/021790) est le fils aîné de Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche et de François III de Lorraine. Il reçut la couronne impériale à la mort de son père en 1765 et ne succéda pour le reste des possessions qu'à la mort de sa mère en 1780. Marié deux fois, il n'eut pas d'enfant et c'est son frère Léopold II qui lui succéda en 1790 au début de la révolution française. Il est le frère de Marie-Antoinette, l’épouse de Louis XVI.
Joseph II (13/03/1741-20/02/1790) was the eldest son of Maria Theresa of Austria and Francis III of Lorraine. He received the imperial crown upon his father's death in 1765 and did not succeed to the rest of the possessions until his mother's death in 1780. Married twice, he had no children and was succeeded by his brother Leopold II in 1790 at the start of the French Revolution. He was the brother of Marie Antoinette, the wife of Louis XVI.
