Ce tableau fut remis à la société de B. Derolland, fabricant de jouets en caoutchouc depuis 1862 dont l’usine est installé à Asnières-sur-Oise avec 250 ouvriers et ouvrières. La société sera reprise par la société Delacoste, créateur de “Sophie la girafe” en 1961.
L’intérieur avec feutrine bleu marine timbré de lettres dorées : EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE / ANVERS / 1885 // B. DEROLLAND / HADIN 5, RUE ST. CLAUDE PARIS, comprend deux tirages unifaces de la médaille de récompense reçu lors de l’exposition sous un écusson belge couronné posé sur un trophée de drapeaux. Ruban timbré : L’UNION FAIT LA FORCE.

“La médaille d’or a été décernée à M. Derolland , fabricant de jouets en caoutchouc, 7, rue Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth, à Paris.
M. Derolland a installé à Asnières-sur-Oise, une usine modèle,
dans laquelle il emploie environ deux cent cinquante ouvriers et
ouvrières, et une force de quatre-vingt-cinq chevaux qui met en
mouvement huit cylindres, deux diables et un autoclave à vulcaniser. L’usine a dix chaudières. M. Derolland a apporté dans l’installation de son usine des améliorations très grandes qui permettent de faire une plus grande besogne avec moins de fatigue pour le personnel.
L’usine est située en pleine campagne et est admirablement
aérée, tous les ouvriers sont assurés contre les accidents.
L’installation de l’usine permet de fabriquer pour sept cent mille francs de marchandises. C’est là un résultat magnifique si l’on tient compte, que presque tous ces jouets en caoutchouc sont
destinés à l’exportation.
M. Derolland a exposé pour la première fois en 1878, à Paris, et il a obtenu la médaille d’argent. Depuis lors il a augmenté son chiffre d’affaires et sa place à la tête des fabricants de jouets en caoutchouc est aujourd’hui incontestée, aussi le jury international des récompenses lui a-t-il décerné la médaille d’or”.

Derolland set up a model factory in Asnières-sur-Oise, in which he employed around two hundred and fifty workers, and a force of eighty-five horses which put into motion eight cylinders, two hand trucks and a vulcanizing autoclave.. The factory has ten boilers. M. Derolland has made major improvements to his factory, which allow more work to be done with less fatigue for the staff..
The factory is located in the open countryside and is admirably ventilated, all the workers are insured against accidents.
The factory's installation allows the production of goods worth seven hundred thousand francs.. This is a magnificent result, considering that almost all of these rubber toys are intended for export..
M. Derolland exhibited for the first time in 1878, in Paris, and he won the silver medal.. Since then, he has increased his turnover and his place at the head of rubber toy manufacturers is today undisputed, so the international awards jury awarded him the gold medal.”
