BLOIS ET LE BLAISOIS
La ciudad de Blois fue en el siglo IX, la sede del condado de Robert le Fort. Thibaut de Chartres se apoderó de él durante el reinado de Carlos el Simple y el condado permaneció con sus descendientes hasta 1391, cuando el condado fue vendido a Luis I de Francia, duque de Orleans. Su nieto, Luis XII, ascendiendo al trono, une el condado a la Corona. Residencia favorita de los Valois, su castillo fue reconstruido y ampliado durante los siglos XVI y XVII. Los Estados Generales se celebraron allí en 1576 y 1588, famoso por el asesinato del duque de Guisa. El gobierno se refugió allí en 1814. Blois es hoy la capital del departamento de Loir-et-Cher..
