Comentario

Depuis 1792 jusqu’au commencement du gouvernement consulaire, voici qu’elle était l’organisation judiciaire : le tribunal de cassation à Paris, et dans chaque département un tribunal criminel et un tribunal civil. Les membres de ce dernier tribunal se divisaient en juges de première instance et juges d’appel.
Le gouvernement établi par la constitution de l’an 3 fut mis en activité dans les premiers jours de novembre 1795; ce fut le 5 de ce mois qu’eut lieu l’installation du Directoire Exécutif. Cette médaille, qui fut distribuée vers cette époque aux juges du tribunal de cassation est convenablement classée au 31 décembre 1795.
From 1792 until the beginning of the consular government, the judicial organization was as follows: the court of cassation in Paris, and in each department a criminal court and a civil court. The members of the latter court were divided into judges of first instance and judges of appeal. The government established by the constitution of the year 3 was put into operation in the first days of November 1795; it was on the 5th of this month that the installation of the Executive Directory took place. This medal, which was distributed around this time to the judges of the court of cassation, is properly classified as of December 31, 1795.
