Cette monnaie est la seconde monnaie commémorative consacrée aux Native Americans, c’est à dire aux nations indiennes d’Amérique du Nord. Chaque année, parallèlement aux quatre émissions des présidents des États-Unis d’Amérique, une monnaie différente sera émise sur ce thème.
Cette monnaie commémore le Traité signé en 1778 entre les indiens Delaware (tribus Lenape) et les États-Unis d’Amérique.
