Guy Erasme Emmerez était le second fils de Paul Emmerez. II embrassa la carriere medicale et fut recu docteur a Paris, le 17 juin 1685, et obtint les honneurs du décanat dans les deux annees 1720 et 1721, fonctions qu’il remplit avec zele et grand honneur. Né a Paris, en 1657, il avait été tenu sur les fonts par
Guy Patin, qui lui donna son nom, et mourut, le 29 octobre 1729, a I’age de soixante-douze ans. Dans un registre (brulé sous la Commune) de la paroisse Saint-Eustache, nous avons relevé un acte de son inhumation, qui est ainsi conçu :
Du dit jour, 30 (octobre 1729), M* Guy-Erasme Emmerez, docteur et ancien doyen de la Faculté de médecine de Paris, age de soixante-douze ans trois mois, demeurant rue des
Deux-Ecus, décédé du 29 du present mois, a ete inhumé au cimetiere des Saints-Innocents, en présence de François Boulduc, premier apothicaire du corps du Roy, son beau-frère, et de messire Pierre Le Paige, prestre, docteur de Sorbonne et chanoine du Saint-Sepulchre, cousin germain, et de M. Paul - Erasme - François Emmerez, avocat au Parlement, son neveu

In the ENCYCLOPEDIC DICTIONARY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, we find that Guy Erasme Emmerez was the second son of Paul Emmerez. He embraced a medical career and was admitted as a doctor in Paris on June 17, 1685, and obtained the honors of the deanery in the two years 1720 and 1721, functions which he fulfilled with zeal and great honor. Born in Paris in 1657, he had been held at the font by Guy Patin, who gave him his name, and died on October 29, 1729, at the age of seventy-two. In a register (burned under the Commune) of the parish of Saint-Eustache, we found an act of his burial, which is worded as follows: On the said day, 30 (October 1729), M* Guy-Erasme Emmerez, doctor and former dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Paris, aged seventy-two years and three months, residing rue des Deux-Ecus, deceased on the 29th of the present month, was buried in the cemetery of the Saints-Innocents, in the presence of François Boulduc, first apothecary of the body of the King, his brother-in-law, and of Messire Pierre Le Paige, priest, doctor of the Sorbonne and canon of the Holy Sepulchre, first cousin, and of M. Paul - Erasme - François Emmerez, lawyer at the Parliament, his nephew
