Elle se composait principalement d'hommes politiques d'ingénieurs, d'intellectuels et d'artistes. Marc Labouret dira même que cette loge soutiendra une active propagande en faveur du projet d’éducation laïque. Parmi les membres célèbres de cette loge, on compte Jules Ferry, initié le 8 juillet 1875. Cette loge fusionne avec la Science et Travail en 1921 et devient la Persévérance.
