Cette médaille fut instituée en 1904 sous Edouard VII pour les membres de la Militia (3e et 4e bataillon de régiment) ayant fait 18 ans de service et 15 ans de “training camp”. D’après Wikipedia, 1587 personnes auraient reçu cette décoration, la dernière ayant été décernée en 1930.
On trouve généralement sur la tranche le chiffre (1754), rang (sergent) et unité (”Devonshire regiment”) du récipiendaire (G. Mairs)
Le ruban est bleu clair et d’origine dans le cas présent (32 mm de large).
This medal was instituted in 1904 under Edward VII for members of the Militia (3rd and 4th battalions of the regiment) who had completed 18 years of service and 15 years of training camp. According to Wikipedia, 1587 people received this decoration, the last having been awarded in 1930. The edge generally shows the number (1754), rank (sergeant) and unit (“Devonshire regiment”) of the recipient (G. Mairs). The ribbon is light blue and original in this case (32 mm wide).
