Los Leuques se mencionan solo una vez en las Guerras de las Galias. Sus vecinos eran los Médiomatriques, los Lingons y los Séquanes. Tanto los Leuques como los Séquanes y los Lingones proporcionaron trigo a César cuando el ejército romano se detuvo en Vesontio (Besançon) para repostar antes de enfrentarse a los germanos de Ariovisto (58 a. C.). César (BG. I, 40).
