La perplexité est totale quant à cette frappe pour la première fois publiée dans MONNAIES 30 qui utilise le coin de revers de la 10 mouzounas de Moulay Yussef en bronze, frappée en AH 1330. Il est probable, compte tenu du métal, qu’il s’agisse d’une frappe d’hommage.
Selon Jean Le Floch, cet essai n’a pas été réalisé à Poissy, qui frappera pourtant pour partie ce type, mais à la Monnaie de Paris : Poissy n’avait pas l’autorisation de frapper en métaux précieux. En revanche, Jean-Pierre Mallet fait remarquer qu’existent des essais en or et argent, frappés à Poissy, au type de l’Hercule, pour Monaco, émissions de 1924 en 50 centimes, 1 franc et 2 francs : rien n’exclut donc que cette 10 mouzounas en argent ait bien été frappée à Poissy. Toutes les hypothèses restent donc ouvertes, les archives de l’atelier de Poissy ayant disparu.
