Comentario
Le revers est peut-être inspiré par le denier d’Auguste (RCV. 1640) de Turpilianus avec les mêmes symboles au revers (luni-solaire : astre et lune). Variété avec grand croissant de lune et grande étoile. La légende est stéréotypée, le K a la forme d’un I et les A sont ouverts en forme de Lambda.

Juba I había sido derrotado en Thapsus en el 46 a. C. pero su hijo, Juba II (50 d. C. - 23 d. C.), criado por Octavia, se hizo amigo de Augusto, quien le entregó la provincia de Mauritania en el 25 a. C. Cleopatra Selene, hija de Cleopatra VII y Marc Antoine, fue perdonado por Octave en el 30 a. C. cuando este último hizo ejecutar a Ptolomeo XV (Cesarión). Se casó con Juba II alrededor del 19 a. C. y murió alrededor del 5 o 6 d. C. Juba II le sobrevivió unos dieciocho años. Es la tía abuela de Calígula y madre de Ptolomeo que sucedió a Juba II y a quien su primo Calígula había asesinado en Roma en el 40 para anexionarse Mauritania..
