Comentario
Poids lourd.
Heavyweight. The smallest denomination minted at Nicopolis. On the obverse, we don't seem to have a legend. The city would only be identified by its reverse thanks to the mention (near the Istrus). But the obverse is eponymous with Nike (Victory) for Nicopolis. This type could constitute an inaugural issue of the coinage under the reign of Trajan. On the reverse, crescent moon and stars are often found on the coinage of the Severans. We have a fine example of a lunisolar symbol. Seems extremely rare and missing from all the works consulted
