GALLIA - SUDOESTE DE LA GALLIA - PETROCORII (Región de Perigueux)

Los Pétrocoriens o Pétrocores cuyo territorio se extendía entre Dordogne y Vézère en el actual departamento de Dordogne (el antiguo Périgord) tenían Périgueux por capital. Formaban parte de la Galia celta y luego se unirán a Aquitania. Aparecen tarde como los Nitiobroges en el momento de la fase final de las Guerras de las Galias. Proporcionaron un contingente de 5.000 hombres al ejército de socorro. Strabo señaló que los Petrocores eran muy buenos metalúrgicos y trabajaban el hierro. Fuentes: César (BG.
