Pièce bi-métallique commémorant l’ancienne province de “Finlande du Sud” . Cette province bénéficie d’un patrmoine architectural médiéval de première importance.
La chope “Rusko” est l'un des objets les plus précieux conservé au Musée national de Finlande. Le kousa ou chope décorée en bois a été produit en Finlande du Sud dès le Moyen-Age. Ces objets sculptés et gravés, ont joué un rôle primordial dans la promotion de l'alphabétisation et la connaissance du catéchisme en Finlande.

En 2010 la Rahapaja, l’institut monétaire finlandais a repris la frappe des pièces de 5 Euro. Une nouvelle série de 9 pièces de 5 Euro s’étendant sur plusieurs années a été lancée en 2010. Cette série est dédiée aux neuf provinces historiques de la Finlande datant de l’époque où la Finlande faisait partie de la Suède:

Coin sold in a capsule. Bi-metal coin commemorating the former province of “Southern Finland”. This province has a medieval architectural heritage of prime importance. The “Rusko” tankard is one of the most precious objects preserved in the National Museum of Finland. The kousa or decorated wooden tankard has been produced in Southern Finland since the Middle Ages. These carved and engraved objects played a vital role in promoting literacy and knowledge of the catechism in Finland. In 2010 Rahapaja, the Finnish Monetary Institute, took over the minting of 5 Euro coins. A new series of 9 5 Euro coins spanning several years was launched in 2010. This series is dedicated to the nine historical provinces of Finland dating back to the time when Finland was part of Sweden: - Satakunta (2010) - Southwest Finland ((2010) - Tavastia (2011) - Savonia (2011) - Uusimaa (2011) - Karelia (2011) - Ostrobothnia (2011) - Lapland (2011) - Åland (2011)
