Monnaie frappée sur un flan un peu court, mais néanmoins avec un droit et un revers complets. Fine patine grise

Comentario
Bien que G. Savès ne les signale pas, il existe au moins deux variantes pour ce type de drachme ; selon qu'il y a ou non des globules au revers devant la hache. Sur cet exemplaire, le manche est bouleté et il y a trois globules en bord de flan devant la hache.

GALLIA - SUODESTE DE LA GALLIA - SOTIATES (Región de Sos)

Los Sotiates o Sontiates habitaban el suroeste del actual departamento de Lot-et-Garonne, así como parte del Gers y las Landas, y se situaban entre los Elusates y los Nitiobroges. Su oppidum era Sos. Si el pueblo de los Sotiates no se menciona en los Comentarios, Adietuanus, su líder, lo es (BG. III, 22). Este último fue presentado por Publius Licinius Crassus, lugarteniente de César, el hijo de Crassus que iba a morir en el 53 a. C. en la batalla de Carrhae, además con su hijo. Adietano se habría rendido al lugarteniente de César solo después de la capitulación de Sos, la capital de su pueblo. Reuniendo a los romanos, el jefe sociado recibió el título de "Rex".
