Comentario

La compagnie des Salines de l’Est est la privatisation des salines royales d’Arc et Senan. La rentabilité des Salines s’effondrera avec l’arrivée du chemin de fer et donc du sel marin transporté à un prix de plus en plus bas.
La société n’a pas laissé localement un très bon souvenir s’étant opposée violemment (dynamitage de certains bâtiments) au classement de l’ensemble architectural comme monument historique protégé en 1926. Aujourd’hui le site fait partie du patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco, voir à http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saline_royale_d%27Arc-et-Senans.
The Compagnie des Salines de l'Est is the privatization of the royal saltworks of Arc et Senan. The profitability of the saltworks collapsed with the arrival of the railway and therefore sea salt transported at an increasingly low price. The company did not leave a very good local memory having violently opposed (dynamiting certain buildings) the classification of the architectural ensemble as a protected historical monument in 1926.
