5e pièce de 3 Euro circulante de la Slovénie après les commémorations de la Présidence de l’Union Européenne (2008), du Centenaire du premier vol au-dessus de la Slovénie (2009), de Ljubljana, capitale mondiale du livre (2010) et le vingtième anniversaire de l’indépendance de la Slovénie (2011).
En 2012 la Monnaie slovène a choisi comme thème la commémoration du centième anniversaire de la première médaille olympique d’un slovène.
La dénomination de cette pièce est “RUDOLF CVETKO – 1912 PVRA OLIMPIJKA MEDALJA”. Rudolf Cvetko fut le premier sportif slovène à participer à une compétition olympique et à remporter une médaille olympique. Lors des Jeux Olympiques d’été 1912 de Stockholm, Rudolf Cvetko, remporta la médaille d’argent de sabre par équipe avec l’Autriche
